Strongly recommended to thrash and melodic death fans. Bloodred Hourglass is another Spinefarm signed band from Finland which is not very well known. But they have created enough variance on this album to make this a forgettable aspect.

I must say that some main riffing is a little too similar on some tracks. This album that doesn't leave too much room for criticism. The kind of riffing I'm talking about is thrashy at first and then comes the little melodic hook in the end.

It is mostly packed with cool thrash riffs which don't get very chaotic and are often a little more melodic than expected from an average thrash band, while they don't go as far as Gothenburg melodies are known for. Vocals are vicious and they definitely sound great throughout the entire album and even though they are similar to metalcore genre norm, they're not bad by any means.

They've used this one trick in many songs, mainly on these which are closer to regular thrash.

The band isn't afraid to throw some acoustic tunes in there too and another thing that sets them apart from their fellow bands is the epic feel they've managed to create for many tracks like "Speed Superstar", "Arcadia" and most prominently "Of Regret Fear and Forgivness".

Especially if you happen to like both of gloodred genres.

Calling it partly metalcore would be a little too much since musically it basically has nothing to do with metalcore, aside from the vocals. Riffing is very strong liebound as said, also somewhat melodic. The use of double bass is simply superb and the frequent tempo changes feel very natural.
