As there is no progress information during rendering see below I've checked the SDK and Python API for information on how to get the current render progress or, in absence of render progress, the counts of total and done buckets for the current frame, but I couldn't find anything. That would indeed be awesome… and welcomed by many doing work integrating renderings into film and HD plates.
